When you nail in the second boards offset the seams of the upper and lower layers by at least 24 in 61 cm.
A simple gable shed roof is often built using 2 4 or 2 6 lumber for the rafters and 2 4 for the collar ties.
Nail 2 boards onto your walls as top plates.
Raise it up horizontally and hold it in place with a 2 4 resting on the floor in the center of the base piece and one at the top center of the truss.
